Mr. Janakan Selvaratnam’s career spanning 25 years with Citibank N.A., Sri Lanka was Vice President, Head of the Local Corporate Bank & Public Sector for the bank’s Sri Lankan franchise. His exposure has been in managing client portfolios in the corporate, multinational, non-banking financial, and public sector segments. He was a member of the Bank’s Management Committee, Credit Committee, etc. The scope of his responsibilities included heading of businesses in a highly performance-driven culture, strategic & business planning, corporate governance & compliance, and credit & risk management. He possesses widespread experience working with risk management, legal teams, product groups, and regulators at all levels within and outside the country.
He holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Business Administration from the University of Wales (Prifysgol Cymru) and a Diploma in Banking from the Institute of Bankers Sri Lanka. He engages in business development and consultancies in the Banking, Non-Banking Financial Institution, Insurance Brokerage, and Corporate sectors.

සෙල්වරත්නම් මහතා මේ වන විට සම්පත් බැංකු පීඑල්සී සමාගමේ මණ්ඩලීය ණය කමිටුවේ උපදේශක ලෙස කටයුතු කරයි. ඔහුගේ ප්‍රධාන කාර්ය භාරය වන්නේ, ආයතනික බැංකු ක්‍රමෝපාය, ණය අවදානම් ඇගයීම, අනුමත කිරීම හා ණය තත්ව විස්තාරණය පිළිබඳ උපදේශන සේවා සැපයීමයි.

ඔහු 1990 දී ශ්‍රී ලංකා සිටි බෑන්ක් එන්ඒ හි සිට සිය වෘත්තීය ජීවිතය ආරම්භ කළේය. සිටි බෑන්ක් එන්ඒ හි වාණිජ බැංකුකරණය සඳහා විකුණුම් හා අලෙවිකරණ කටයුතු අංශයේ ප්‍රධානී සහ දේශීය ආයතනික බැංකු හා රාජ්‍ය අංශයීය කටයුතු ප්‍රධානී සහ එහි නියෝජ්‍ය සභාපති ඇතුළු ප්‍රමුඛ ආයතනික පදවි කීපයක් වසර 2015 දක්වා ඔහු දැරූ තනතුරුවලට ඇතුළත්ව ඇත. ඔහු අවදානම් කළමනාකරණය පිළිබඳ උපදේශක වරයෙකු ලෙස රිචඩ් පීරිස් ෆිනෑන්ස් පීඑල්සී හි අධ්‍යක්ෂ මණ්ඩලයේ උපදේශක වරයෙකු වශයෙන් ද, සීමා සහිත ෆෝසයිට් රක්ෂණ තැරැව්කරුවන්ගේ (පුද්ගලික) සමාගමේ උපදේශක වරයෙකු වශයෙන් ද සේවය කළේ ය

Currently, he serves as the Chairman of the Board Credit Committee. He is a member of the Board Integrated Risk Management Committee, the Board Corporate Governance Committee and the Board Related Party Transactions Review Committee.
